The company prepared some press for the build of the phone. However, the announcement of the Mi Mix Alpha for general manufacturing never comes. But almost four years later, Xiaomi has filed a patent for a new smartphone design similar to their Mi Mix Alpha.
Xiaomi's Mi Mix Alpha has patented a new cardboard spot phone design
According to ITHO Code, Xiaomi has submitted a design patent to China's National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). This design was first seen with the 2019 Mi Mi Alpha Concept.
However, the design of Xiaomi's new SpotWound smartphone is not the same as the Mi Mix Alpha. It has a large non-display area on the back, and in the new design it's in the middle instead of on the left side.
The highlight of the phone is yours among all the camera sensors on the screen. In the top left corner of the self section is a single friend-facing committee. And the triple rear cameras are arranged vertically on the back display on the left side. You will not go from one.
Again, a SIM card slot, a USB Type-C port and a speaker grill are seen on the side Whereas, on the top you have the speaker grill and the line slot, which is probably for the microphone. And, capacitive and volume buttons can be found on the left side of the phone.
Note that Xiaomi usually unveils opportunities and ideas during their annual event in August. So probably, company support will unveil this design concept. But in most cases design patents are not made available. So this cannot be ruled out in this case as well.
